Every now and then, a crossover happens that just makes you stop and say, “Wait, what?” In 2024, a comic dropped that brought together Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the crew from Stranger Things. Yeah… it happened. And while the whole thing is packed with wild moments, like the crew saving Times Square from becoming a portal to the Upside Down, there was one scene that hit different.

Before we dive into it, take a moment and watch the episode below. ⬇️

Shared Burdens, Unexpected Wisdom

So, in the story, the Turtles and the Hawkins kids team up. But instead of splitting into their usual groups, Turtles over here, Hawkins crew over there, they mix it up. Different personalities working together to handle two different parts of the mission. But before they go their separate ways, Master Splinter stops them and says:

“Though you head now in different directions, you must remember that you share the burden before you.”

And man… that line stuck with me.

We’ve all had moments where we feel completely alone. Like we’re carrying this heavy thing, and no one else gets it. Sometimes, it’s not even about whether people care, it’s just that some burdens are hard to share. But that doesn’t mean we have to carry them solo.

There are people in our lives who would help carry the burden if they could. Sometimes all it takes is someone who’s willing to just listen. That alone can make the weight feel lighter.

And here’s the thing: even if we feel like no one else is there, God is always with us. Psalm 55:22 says:

“Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

That’s a promise. That’s our reminder that we are never truly alone in what we face.

When God Helps Carry the Load

Sometimes, God lightens our burdens in quiet, unexpected ways, like giving us peace in the middle of the chaos. Other times, He nudges us toward the right person to talk to, or shows us what steps to take next. And if you’re part of a church or a faith community, don’t sleep on that support system. God often uses people to help bear one another’s burdens.

Even if all they do is sit with you. Even if all they do is listen.

So yeah, this devotion was short. But it just kept playing in my head:
You’re not alone. You don’t have to carry it by yourself.

That needed to be said.
