It sounds like what is happening isn’t so much the quantization desyncing, as it is that the beats that the drums are accenting and what is being accented by the guitars don’t align, which creates a polyrhythmic effect that just hits my ears as clashing rhythmically. I can see how it still is mathematically correct within the context of rhythm, and it was a mistake on my part to blame this on quantization
