This week on Geek Devotions, Celeste takes a look at the concept of "what if" stories. We are a big fan of alternate timeline series like DC's Elseworlds and Amazon's "The Man In the High Castle." But what happens when we ourselves dwell on the alternate options that we could have made in our own lives?
This premise of this book had me intrigued from the beginning, the concept that God loves food, and is trying to tell us things through his creation? Well yes, sign me up. I had heard of Mrs. Feinburg before as well, so this was a fairly easy decision for me personally because food, cooking food, and eating food are past times I enjoy.
This week on Geek Devotions Celeste takes a look Episode 2 of Doom Patrol and the infamous Donkey... That donkey looked like it was providing the right path... but in the end, they realized it was a trap. In our lives, we will be faced with paths that seem right by human perspectives. But sometimes they are a trap. So how do we know which way to go?
This week on Geek Devotions, Celeste talks about the real downfall of Vanya (Number 7) on The Umbrella Academy. It's what she focuses on. What if we told you that the downfall of many is very similar to Vanya's... their focus. Often people will focus on their grief and guilt to the point that they are driven to continue down the wrong path.
Melanie Dickerson brings us another great reimagining of the classic tale. This time it's the story of Mulan. Mulan knows that she should marry, cook, and have children rather than wage war. Can she surpass these insurmountable odds, stay alive, save her mother, and keep the secret from the handsome son of a duke?
For week 2 of Geekmas 2018 Celeste sat down to watch the 1970 classic, "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town!" While the movie as whole was fun, it was the ending monologue that stuck out to Celeste. What was so special about this speech? Watch and Find out or read the article version down below.
Thanks to our Devoted Patreon Geeks, we were able to get our hands onto DC Universe. This week's devotional is a direct result of that! This week Celeste takes a look at an interesting scene from Episode 7 of Titans. In this episode, called Asylum, Dick wrestles with his hurt and finally decides to do something physically that symbolically helped him get some healing, he burned his Robin costume. What's interesting about this is that there may be times where we, in a similar action, need to do something physical to walk out our healing. To learn more check out this episode!
