Recently Celeste had the opportunity to stream the game called, Unravel 2. The game involves two little yard creatures and their adventure together. What’s interesting is how much these creatures rely on each other. Do we as individuals need to rely on others just as much? What is the point of having friends, especially Christian Friends?
Tuesday night over on the Geek Devotions Twitch channel Celeste was playing the game Unravel 2. In this game, you have 2 little yarn characters who have been fused. The point of this game is that you are making your way following a light and filling in pictures in a lighthouse. And you if playing single player control both the yarn characters. It’s a super chilled game to play. So far we highly recommend it. While we were streaming Celeste got stuck briefly on a puzzle that required both yarn creatures to do different things. During this time one of our Devoted Geeks who were watching goes, “Threads that bring people.” This started a rabbit trail in Celeste’s mind. These 2 characters are together and connected by a thread. As Christians, we are together in this walk, and we are connected by the “thread” of our faith and salvation in Christ Jesus. As a result, we need to be mindful of each other and lift each other.
In Thessalonians 5:11 it says…
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
As Christians, as followers of Christ, we need to be aware of other Christians and help them out and encourage them when they need it. There is a mechanic in the game where you have one character standing on top of something while the other one pulls themselves up by the yarn, and that’s a great example because sometimes you need a brother or a sister in the faith to stand there holding the yarn while you pull yourself up to where you need to be.
So this is our challenge for you this week. Encourage someone, whether that is by telling that they are loved, or if it’s doing something for them that you know will encourage them.
Question of the week: what’s something that encourages you?
