For our season finale special guest Francisco Ruiz has taken over the channel! Wrapping up our Summer Serial Event Francisco takes time to share his memories about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 and then shares the importance of remembering where God has brought you and how He brought you through.
This week, loosely bouncing off of TMNT 3 Francisco talks about the importance of remember our past and the power of having memorials. Francisco first begins by sharing the following verse.
And Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.”
The importance of remembering our past isn’t so that we can metaphorically stay in that moment, but rather to encourage us. As we go through life we will at times run in difficulties that will make us question if God is with us. But if we take time to remind ourselves of all the times God has shown up and provided for us, we can find strength to continue on. These are not meant to be idol moments that we glorify in later times, but are meant to encourage us so that we can keep going.
If you’re going through a hard time right now, we’d like to encourage you to take a moment and reflect on all the things God has done in your life. Look at the small miracles. Look at the times God provided for you when you least expected it. Look at those moments where someone has encouraged you, simply told you that you were loved and that someone cared for you.
