The heart behind Geek Devotions is simply to let people know that they are loved. No matter who you are or where you come from, we want you to know that you are cared for, that there is a plan and a purpose for your life, and that there is hope for you. Recently, Geek Devotions has committed to partnering with Shreveport Teen Reach Adventure Camps (TRAC) to help a particular group of young people know that they are loved.
Every year, abused teens are put into the foster care system or, worse, end up on the streets as part of our homeless population. The teenage years of a person are already a crucial time for a young person to know that they are loved, but to be in a situation like this means more than ever, they need to know that they are loved. At TRAC and TRAC life, leaders provide hope through camping and mentoring programs designed especially for these youth. Their vision is to serve youth in the foster system in every county in the US and pursue opportunities internationally. If you’d like more information about the Shreveport TRAC team, visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/tracshreveport
Today, however, you can make a difference. This July, TRAC is doing two camps for these remarkable young people here in the Shreveport / Bossier City Area. We want to raise enough money to send at least five teens to camp and help with operational costs for the camp. Would you partner with us to help raise at least $500 for Shreveport TRAC?
To help raise funds, we are doing a 40-hour stream on our Twitch Channel from May 21st-22nd. Our team and a few special guests will be playing various games, recording special editions of podcasts, and simply doing life in the Twitch community, all while raising awareness about this fantastic program to let teens know that they are loved.
