So yeah, Geek Devotions has been a great source of fun and Christian fellowship for me!  In every interaction, there has been love, genuine fun, and acceptance.  Not to mention games.  Many games.

I’ve been lucky enough to be featured with my good friend, who I got to help make a book, but I’ve also enjoyed the devotionals.  I always struggle with certain media being featured, but every time I’d go in to see the devotionals, I loved that every media type was always just a springboard to get the real meat of the word.  It’s great!

Plus, did I mention meeting fellow Christian Geeks is the best?

I was raised catholic, and the Bible has always been a part of my life. However, over the years, I have had an on-again-off-again relationship with the Christian faith because of my geeky side. We all know the routine ‘__ is of the devil, and you can’t be a “real Christian” if you enjoy them.’ Then several years ago, during the Geeks Under Grace pledge drive, I met Dallas and learned of Geek Devotions.

I was floored at first, wondering how you could reconcile Batman with Christianity, but you did. Fast forward to recently, I have been binging “The Bottom Shelf Podcast” and came to realize, “Hey, I’ve become very comfortable in my little box of certain books and chapters of the Bible,” I now feel drawn to reading the books like Psalms and Proverbs that I’ve always just glanced over.

Where do I start, lol?

Geek Devotions has been such an encouragement because, while I didn’t grow up a geek, Dallas and Celeste had encouraged me long before Geek Devotions actually started not to be ashamed to be a geek. Its been a blessing to me because I can hang out with fellow Geeks and not feel judged or thought of as “weird.” After all, they are geeks just like me. The videos are amazing and put a practical biblical application to your geeky show, movie, game, etc. (Also, In ways I never thought of). So applying scripture to the material they cover helps put that into perspective.

Geek Devotions has allowed me to be a part of a community of geeks that encourage, lift each other up and support one another. I feel like we are more of a family than really a community. Geek Devotions has challenged me to reach out to other geek non-believers and has become a tool for me to share the gospel with fellow geeks like myself in the geeky community. It has also challenged me to open up to new things that I might have never considered, like anime, movies, different kinds of games, etc.

Geek Devotions is a huge blessing in my life, and I pray they continue to have success with it and wish them the best as they continue this ministry tool they have created.

I came to this video [Batman – Working Through the Pain] as a gift for a friend of mine who is dealing with a lot of pain that keeps coming like minecarts out of a busy mine (weird off-the-top-of-my-head-analogy, but I hope you get my point), but while I did come for my friend, I got something for myself: my Father speaking to me through you Dallas and Celeste. Thank you for being obedient (it is a good word that means Faithfully follow and do) to our Father and doing this ministry. You are blessing exactly the people He wants to bless through you.

Geek Devotions has brought me a fellowship like I have never imagined. I have friends during my day-to-day life on an online community! I could never ask for something more than Geek Devotions! The Devoted Geek Life group is also very very fun! I would suggest it to anybody!

Aside from great companionship and beautiful hearts, Dallas & Celeste never fail to encourage, uplift and challenge, as a man of God. As a creator, they’ve challenged and help to make my ministry more visually appealing.

Geek Devotions has helped me by praying for me and lifting me up. And because they made a page for gamers/nerds/Anime  and Christ; they have reminded me to never give up and hold my head up high.

Geek Devotions makes me feel like I can be a Christian and still be a geek. I still have to be careful of what I watch, what I read, but I can enjoy being Dale. Sounds corny, but there it is.
