This weeks Geek Devotion we are talking about Peace
Today we’re going to talk about Peace. Peace is something that as Christian’s we should walk in daily, though it’s difficult. We see in the scriptures a ton of times that peace is mentioned. And we’re going to get into several of those, but first let’s look at the definition of Peace:
1 : a state of quiet; especially : freedom from public disturbance or war
2 : freedom from upsetting thoughts or feelings
3 : harmony in personal relations
4 a : a state or period of peace between governments b : an agreement to end a war
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7 ESV
Peace if we let it, if we choose it, will guard our hearts from all the scary things that are going on in our minds. Yes things are unsure. But that doesn’t mean that God’s peace won’t protect your heart and mind. Now I said something a bit ago that I’m sure some of you went… Wait what? If we choose. We have to choose peace.
“and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
Ephesians 6:15-16 ESV
If you feel yourself not being peaceful tell your mind… Mind … You are peaceful. And then pray. I have an acquaintance who has started doing morning prayer on her Facebook. She goes live every morning from 7:30-8 and she prays and invites you to pray with her as well. She said something one of the days I was able to join in that I thought was a great reminder. Prayer can not be quarentined. So even if it’s just you and your thoughts that are causing you to not have peace. Pray. Give over those thoughts to God. And ask for His Peace.
Today’s Question of the Week: What do you do to enact Peace in your life?
