This week on Geek Devotions, Dallas talks about his love for Pokemon and his love for spreading the Gospel. We ask a pretty serious question… where do we go to spread the gospel?
Pokémon Go is a fun game that causes users to do something interesting… get up, go to places they would never normally go to and try to find Pokémon that you wouldn’t normally see. Hardcore Pokémon collectors try hard to hunt them down in hopes of finding rare Pokémon that they desire. Similar to the desire to go out and find these rare Pokémon, we need to have a desire to go out and find the lost. We are so willing to get out and find them, what are we willing to do to reach the lost? There are so many people out there who need hope, they need peace, they need Jesus.
We need to be willing to go out and find them. Sometimes we get nervous because we are unsure as to where to go through. Start simple. Ask yourself a few questions.
- Where do you spend most of your day?
- What places do you go to on a regular basis?
- Who do you see on a regular basis?
Reality is that there are people everywhere and it’s super simple to show them love. If you don’t use self-checkout, talk to the person checking you out at the grocery store. Be nice to them and encourage them. Are you a student at school? Talk to the person who sits next to you in chemistry or during lunch. Have a full-time job? Encourage your co-workers and do your best to help them. All along point them back to Jesus.
