What’s the point of life? Where does your purpose come from? in Your Lie in April, known in Japan as Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (四月は君の嘘), piano prodigy Kōsei Arima is on a journey to discover the purpose of his passion for music. It’s a great emotional series that special guest Sierra Hall of The Healing Place School of Ministry uses to take on a pretty serious topic.

In the series “Your Lie in April” Kosai finds himself going on a journey to discover purpose for his passion for music. His lie is full of hardship and heartbreak that could kill his passion and purpose. In our lives we will go through many hardships that will cause us to question ourselves, to question our purpose. What we have to remember, however, is that our purpose is established by God.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5

In the verse above, We hear how God had appointed and set Jeremiah apart before he was even born. In the same way God has established something special for you.

One of the problems people run into is that they believe that if they understand their purpose that everything should be smooth an easy. But take a look at the following verse

10 “For thus says the Lord: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfarea]”>[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Here we see that while God does have great plans for His people, they will still go through hardships. Hardships are part of life. It’s not that God is mean or is ignoring us, but it’s a result of our fallen world. But we need to hold to the promises of God when we go through hardship.

What’s special is this, if we hold to the promises of God even during the darkest times, God is glorified. People around you will see God’s working in your life and will be inspired. Not that they will be inspired by you but by God’s grace demonstrated in your life.
