Kids

Samurai Pizza CatsSummer and Sarah recommended Samurai Pizza Cats. It’s a fun chibi style anime where pizza delivery cats take on the task of helping to fight crime. This show is the epitome of kawaii (cute). From the story line to the art style, this series is just adorable.  Sadly the official IMDB description is lack luster so we recommend you check the submitted storyline summary found on their page.

IMDB Description: The feline staff of a pizza joint fight crime as superheroes when called for.

Teens

Lucky Star AnimeSummer and Sarah thought older girls and teens would enjoy Lucky Star. LuckyStar follows the daily lives of four cute high school girls—Konata Izumi, the lazy otaku; the Hiiragi twins, Tsukasa and Kagami (sugar and spice, respectively); and the smart and well-mannered Miyuki Takara. They thought this is a great peek into the life of teenage girls and helps them to see the lighter side of life in the midst of their changing world.

IMDB Description: Having fun in school, doing homework together, cooking and eating, playing video games, watching anime. All those little things make up the daily life of the anime-and chocolate-loving-Izumi Konata and her friends. Sometimes relaxing but more than often simply funny.

Adults

Snow White with the Red Hair AnimeSummer and Sarah would like to recommend Snow White With the Red Hair. They thought this was an interesting series that takes the classic story of Snow White and places it in Japan. They felt that this series did a great job of demonstrating woman independence and strength.

IMDB Description: Shirayuki was a young girl born with unique apple-red hair. She meets a famous but foolish Prince Raji, who falls in love with her at first sight and orders her to become his concubine. With nowhere else to go, Shirayuki cuts her hair and escapes to a neighboring country. While traversing through the forests, she meets a young boy, Zen, who helps her after she boldly cures his wounds but then gets poisoned by an apple given to Shirayuki. Meanwhile, Prince Raji sends out henchmen to search for her. What will happen to Shirayuki? What is Zen’s true character? A fantasy story between an optimistic heroine and a prince who constantly stays on her watch.
